Peshawar was the location of Abbas Afridi’s birth on April 5th, 2001. Abbas started his PSL career in 2021 with Karachi Kings. Fast bowler Umar Gul is the uncle of Abbas Afridi, a fellow quick bowler who played for Pakistan in the past and was also a former international cricketer.

During the 2018–19 One Day Cup of Quaid-e-Azam, which took place in September 2018, Afridi earned his debutant call for Habib Bank Limited as part of the List A competition.

In 2019 December, he was selected to be a member of Pakistan’s team for the Under-19 World Cup 2020. He maintained his position as Pakistan’s leading wicket-taker throughout the competition.

When Abbas Afridi earned his debut in Twenty20 Internationals on January 12, 2024, he faced New Zealand and grabbed three wickets while allowing 34 runs to be scored. He was picked for the national T20 Team because the PSL career of Abbas Afridi was too good during the 3 seasons of the Pakistan Super League.

Abbas Afridi was selected by Karachi Kings to participate in the Pakistan Super League in February of 2021, and he went on to join Karachi Kings to play in the 2021 PSL season. In the following month, he made his debutant game for the team in the Twenty20 format.

Later in 2022, Afridi was picked by Multan Sultans. He represented Multan during PSL 2022 and 2023. Unfortunately, his side lost to Lahore Qalandars in both seasons in the final. But Afridi’s performance was so good just like his uncle Umar Gul.

Abbas Afridi represented Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League during season 2021. He performed well in that season.

Due to his line and length and good bowling, Multan Sultans picked Afridi during PSL in 2022, and since then he has been representing Sultans.

Abbas Afridi is a fast bowler and just like his uncle Umar Gul, he delivers the ball with good line and length.

Abbas Afridi has now become the key bowler of Multan Sultans. His average with the ball is 12.86 which is good in T20.

Afridi has picked 30 wickets in only 20 appearances in PSL for two clubs. His economy with the ball is 9.34 which is not very good but he is a wicket-taker bowler.

The best bowling figure for Abbas Afridi in PSL is 5 wickets for 47 runs.

Abbas Afridi in PSL 8 (2023)

Abbas Afridi represented the Multan Sultans in PSL 8 which was held in 2023.

Afridi was the player that took the most wickets in the 2023 Pakistan Super League. He had 23 wickets, which was one more than his teammate Ihsanullah, who was playing for Multan Sultans. His bowling average was 16.17.

Afridi scored only 23 runs in PSL 8 last year. He hit one six and three boundaries in the tournament.

Abbas Afridi has been picked by Multan Sultans for PSL 9 which is going to start in February next month. He will be the key bowler of the tournament.
