Player profile of Imad Wasim

Imad Wasim, whose full name is Syed Imad Wasim Haider and who was born on December 18, 1988, is a cricketer who represents Pakistan on the international stage. He plays all positions with his left hand. Wasim was a contributor to the Pakistani side that triumphed at the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) gave him a central contract during the 2018–19 season in early August of 2018, making him one of the 33 players to receive such a deal for that season. First taking the helm of the Pakistan ODI team in March of 2019, he made history in that role.

Wasim’s place of birth was Swansea in Wales. His father had a brief career as an engineer in the United Kingdom. Wasim’s parents moved the family to Pakistan whilst he was a very young child, and as a result, he played his entire first-class cricket in Pakistan. Before he began his professional journey in cricket, he was pursuing a medical degree, but he left school when he had the opportunity to play for Pakistan’s under-19 team.

Wasim and Sannia Ashfaq tied the knot in Islamabad at the Shah Faisal Mosque in the month of August 2019.

On May 24, 2015, he competed for the first time for Pakistan in a Twenty20 International match against Zimbabwe in Lahore. On July 19, 2015, he debuted for Pakistan in his first One-Day International match, which was played against Sri Lanka. He will be representing Pakistan at the ICC World Twenty20, which will take place in 2016.

Imad Wasim joined Karachi Kings in 2016 and since then he is part of Karachi Kings. He is also among some players who have not changed the team in Pakistan Super League. He captained the side from 2018 to 2021. He was also the captain of Karachi Kings in PSL 8 which was held in 2023.

Imad Wasim was the captain of Karachi Kings when his side won the tournament in 2020 beating his rival Lahore Qalandars.

Imad Wasim was the captain of Karachi Kings in PSL 8 which was held in March 2013. Karachi Kings did not perform well in this tournament but Imad Wasim was exceptional in PSL 8.

Has batted in 10 innings and scored 404 runs with an average of 134.67. His strike rate was 170.46 and his highest score was 92.
