(Jan 16, 2021) – IPL Auction 2021: The franchises of the Indian Premier League have just 5 more days to announce their retention decision.
The IPL franchise management has to decide which players they want to keep for the next edition of IPL and which players they wanted to release. The BCCI has written a letter to all the franchises that they have to make their retention decision by 20th Jan.
It means that franchisees can announce their retention decisions by the 21st of January. After this date, the franchises will prepare for the IPL 2021 mini auctions.
Like previous editions of the Indian Premier League, there are 8 franchises which are listed below. All these franchises had to announce about their retentions:
- Mumbai Indian (MI)
- Delhi Capitals (DC)
- Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)
- Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)
- Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)
- Kings XI Punjab (KXIP)
- Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
- Rajasthan Royals (RR)
BCCI also suggested the state players apply for the auctions. In an official announcement, they said that the state players who are not registered can fill the registration form before Feb 5. By filling this form, they will be eligible to participate in the player’s Auctions for IPL 2021.
Arjun Tendulkar, the son of “Little Mater” (Sachin Tendulkar) has made his debut for Mumbai and now he is also eligible for the IPL auctions. We will see if he can play the IPL 2021 or not.
