After going unsold during the previous season of the Indian Premier League, experienced Piyush Chawla showed that he still possesses his magnificent talents by collecting three wickets for the Mumbai Indians. Chawla had been spectating the IPL.

Prithvi Shaw, who had a difficult time scoring runs in the first 3 matches, smashed many top-quality boundaries during his 15 runs of 10 deliveries before being dismissed by a sweep shot that off-spin bowler Hrithik Shokeen.

Manish Pandey, who was batting at number 3 with 26 runs off 18 deliveries, utilized his feet exceptionally well against the spin; yet, this was also the cause of his downfall.

Yash Dhull, who was making his IPL comeback after spending the entirety of the previous season sitting out, could only endure a total of four balls.

At the time when Chawla took out Rovman Powell with such a googly in the eleventh over, Delhi had reached 86 for 4 and was looking at a score that was below par.

Meanwhile, Axar partnered a Warner who was struggling in the mid of Delhi’s session, and single-handedly transformed the trajectory of Delhi’s innings.

Axar, who has perhaps been the most developed batter on the Indian squad over the course of the previous year, made it very obvious what he intended to do by hitting back-to-back inside-out maximums off of Shokeen.

After two overs, it was left-arm speedster Jason Behrendorff’s turn to be the recipient of Axar’s assault. Axar’s onslaught continued till the finish of the match. Axar attacked the same place again after he had already hit him for a maximum over long-on, and he got lucky when Suyakumar Yadav misjudged the catch entirely and got struck above the eye with the ball flying all the way.

After delivering such a terrible blow, Surya was, as was to be expected, hauled from the pitch.

Axar’s 5th and final six was the finest of the bunch as he hammered Meredith over the skull to raise his fifty. This brought Axar’s total score to 50.

With four wickets taken by Mumbai in the nineteenth over delivered by Behrendorff, who finished with final statistics of 3 for 23 in 4 overs, Mumbai was able to slow down the rate at which runs were being scored.

As Mumbai Indians sent the hosts into to bat, David Warner struggled to 51 off of 47 deliveries before Axar Patel displayed his much enhanced batting talents again with an impacting 54 off of 25 balls to take Delhi Capitals to a challenging 172.

The pitch was on the dryer team compared to the 1st game in New Delhi, which meant that finger spinners got plenty of help from it. The Mumbai Indians use to have a difficult assignment ahead of them, but Rohit assisted his side earn their 1st win of the season by scoring a superb 65 runs off 45 balls.

In the middle for Mumbai was Cameron Green was on 17 runs not out off 8 deliveries and Tim David with 13 not out off just 11 deliveries, and they needed 5 runs from the final over to win the game. However, Anrich Nortje bowled excellently to keep the match down to the final ball. David was able to get the necessary two points off the last ball to secure a much-desired victory.

After being moved up to number 3, the currently in-form Tilak Varma scored an important 41 runs off 29 balls and formed a 68-run partnership with the team’s captain, Rohit.

After suffering consecutive losses, Mumbai finally secured the victory they desperately needed, while Delhi’s season took a turn for the worst after they were defeated for the fourth time in as many matches.

One could tell a memorable knock was on the way when Rohit raced down the track to bowler Mukesh Kumar during the 1st over of the game to smash him for a maximum over mid-wicket.

There at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Rohit demonstrated that not only is he the best hitter in the game, but that no one else even comes close. Much better than his first six, his second 6 over wide long-on came about when he dragged Anrich Nortje off his front foot. As well, Rohit’s best maximum came off a short ball when he smacked a short ball off Nortje for a tremendous hit over beyond square leg. This was Rohit’s second six of the game.

Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav, two spinners for Delhi, were able to slow down the flow of runs during the middle overs of the game. However, Varma’s timely boundaries allowed Mumbai to maintain their lead in the game.

Before Mukesh bowled Suryakumar Yadav on duck and Varma off consecutive deliveries, Mumbai appeared to be well on their way to a comfortable victory. They only needed 30 runs off the last five overs, and they had nine wickets to spare.

As Rohit fell victim to a magnificent save from rookie keeper Abhishek Porel, who dove to his right to collect a spectacular one-handed grab off Mustafizur Rahman, anxieties rose in the Mumbai changing room. Abhishek Porel caught Rohit off, Mustafizur Rahman.

Despite this, the giant Aussie combo of David and Green helped their team cross the finish line first.
