(Nottingham – 16 July 2021) – Opening partnership of 150 runs between Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam helped Pakistan to make their highest-ever T20 runs. Pakistan scored 232 runs in 20 overs with the loss of 6 wickets.
After winning the toss, England’s captain decided to field first. Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam came on the crease as openers and they provided a very steady start to team Pakistan. In 11.2 overs, Pakistan made 100 runs when Babar Azam was batting on 59 runs and Rizwan was on 39.
Then the opening stand was 150 runs in 14.4 overs when Rizwan was caught behind by the keeper Bairstow at a total individual score of 63 runs on 41 balls. The next batsman was Sohaib Maqsood, the star batsman of PSL 6 final for Multan Sultans, he made a quick 19 runs on 7 balls with the help of 2 sixes and 1 four.
Captain Babar Azam made 85 runs on 49 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 8 fours. This was the 3rd wicket that Pakistan lost and the total score was 175-3 in 16.2 overs.
Fakhar Zaman made 26 runs on just 8 balls, he hit 3 sixes while Muhammad Hafeez made 24 runs on 10 balls. He also hit 3 sixes and 1 four.
