In the third Twenty20 international, Pakistan defeated Afghanistan by 66 runs.
Pakistan’s Innings:
Saim Ayub, a Young batter led the way for Pakistan in the batting department. Saim, who became a sensation in the PSL 8 tournament, did not score in either of the first two games he played in, but today he found his strength and scored 49 runs off of 40 balls. During his time at the crease, he hit 4 boundaries and 2 sixes, scoring 49 runs total.
Iftikhar Ahmed, the player who came on in place of Azam Khan, scored 31 vital runs, including 2 maximums. The right-handed batter Shadab contributed 28 runs off of 17 balls, showing that he took full control with the bat as well.
Mujeeb was the only bowler to take more than one wicket, with two, while Fareed Ahmad, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, and Karim Janat each took one.
The 183 runs that needed to be defended by the bowlers of Pakistani were successfully defended by them, and Pakistan won the series 2-1 thanks to their efforts. They won by a score of 66 runs against Afghanistan.
Afghanistan’s Innings:
Ihsanullah provided the breakthrough in the fifth over when he bowled Rahmanullah Gurbaz without allowing him to make a single run. He was soon joined in the attack by Mohammad Wasim Jr. and the captain of the team, Shadab Khan. Ihsanullah was able to pick up speed at the other end of the field thanks to the two bowlers who picked up quick wickets. The speedster was able to dismantle the trust of batters in Afghanistan thanks to his lightning-fast speed.
After receiving a blow to the jaw from Ihsanullah, Najibullah Zadran was forced to leave the pitch and receive medical attention. His replacement due to concussion, Azmatullah Omarzai, came to crease at number 10, but prior to that point, Pakistan came dangerously close to achieving a much-needed victory.
Shadab licensed a record when he became the first Pakistani bowler to ever consider taking 100 wickets in Twenty20 Internationals. He did so by taking three wickets during the match. Important wickets were taken by him, including those of Ibrahim Zadran, Usman Ghani, and Mujeeb Ur Rehman.
Shadab khan and Ihsanullah each took three wickets, and Imad Wasim and Zaman Khan each contributed one wicket to the team total.
Omarzai scored the most runs for Afghanistan with 21, but it was not enough to save them because they were struck out for 116 runs.
Conclusions:
In Sharjah on Monday, Pakistan avoided a series sweep against Afghanistan thanks to a strong performance across the board in every aspect of the game.
Pakistan put on a respectable performance in the third and final Twenty20 International match of the series, despite having lost the first two matches in the T20I series.
First-Ever Series Win For Afghanistan:
This was Afghanista’s first-ever series win over Pakistan. Both of Afghanistan’s victories came in Sharjah, with the first coming by a score of 6 wickets and the 2nd by 7.
The one-day international series has been organized in place of the three one-day international matches Afghanistan was scheduled to play versus Australia in the UAE this month.
Cricket Australia, however, decided not to continue with the series in order to voice their opposition to the Taliban’s decision to outlaw women’s education as well as the sport of cricket in Afghanistan.
