(Pakistan Super League 6 2021) – 26 Feb — The 8th match of HBL PSL 6 played between the Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators. The rivalry of both the teams is known in the PSL and all their matches are interesting and nail-biting right from season 1 of PSL.
Quetta Gladiators: 198/7
Peshawar Zalmi: 202/7 (19.3/20 ov, target 199)
This match was also a nail-biter as Quetta Gladiators set a huge total of 198 runs with the help of the brilliant batting of captain Sarfaraz Ahmad. He made 81 runs on just 40 balls with the help of 12 boundaries and 1 sixer.
Azam Khan played well with the skipper and made important 47 runs on 26 balls. He hit 6 fours and 2 sixes. Faf du Plessis played his first match of HBL PSL and he played a decent inning of 37 runs.
Saqib Mehmood of Peshawar took 3 wickets in 4 overs while the skipper Wahab took 2 wickets in the match.
Peshawar Zalmi started their innings and lost 2 early wickets. Kamran Akmal went in the 3rd over after making just 3 runs at a total of 13. Tom Kohler-Cadmore could only manage to make 4 runs and gone in the 4th over at a total of 27 runs.
After the loss of 2 wickets, Imam ul Haq and Haider Ali provided great support to the team and they both make 52 runs partnership in 5.2 overs. Imam ul Hq clean bowled by Zahid Mahmood at a total score of 79. He added 41 runs in the innings total.
Then Shoaib Malik came to join Haider Ali and they both made a partnership of 52 runs in 4.5 overs. Haider Ali got out at a total of 131 in the 15th over. His individual score was 50 on 29 balls.
Shoaib Malik was the next player to go to the pavilion. He played a great quick knock and made 34 runs on 20 balls with 3 sixes.
Then Sherfane Rutherford and Wahab Riaz carried the innings of Peshawar Zalmi. Sherfane Rutherford was a bit slow in the start but he ended the match with the winning shot. He made 36 runs on 18 balls that included 4 sixes and 1 four.
Two long sixes of Wahab Riaz in the 2nd last over of the innings to Dale Styn made the match easy for Peshawar. They require only 6 runs in the last over which they make even after losing two wickets on 2 balls of the last over.
Finally, Peshawar Zalmi chased down a huge total of 198 which is the highest total of PSL 6 till now. Peshawar won the match by 3 wickets and 3 balls remaining.
