The fact that Curran only allowed 10 runs to be scored against him while defending 16 runs in the final over enabled Punjab to achieve its second victory in a row in the tournament.
Punjab Kings Inning
In the opening ten overs of the match, Prabhsimran ruthlessly punished the bowlers for Rajasthan by hitting seven boundaries and three maximums. As a result, he reached his first 50 in the IPL off of only 28 balls, which helped get Punjab into a roaring start. Along with Dhawan, they scored 90 runs off playing just 61 balls during the first wicket stand.
He (Prabhsimran) really has been wonderful. While we were in Punjab, I was there with him. That was 4 years ago. He continues to be young and was quite young while he was there. The group got off to an excellent beginning. Curran remarked that he is confident this is just the beginning of a fantastic season for him and that he will continue to rack up the runs because he is such an incredible player.
Dhawan smoothly changed gears despite the fact that at one point he was second in command to Prabhsimran and had hit 30 out of 30 balls. Dhawan raised the stakes as his batting partner was removed from the game, scoring 56 runs off the following 26 deliveries that he played in the process.
The Punjab Kings captain was out when he was on 50, but he took the most of the reprieve by playing the position of sheet anchor for the rest of his team’s innings. He made sure that they had sufficient runs on the scoreboard when the dew began to fall.
His innings were littered with 9 boundaries and 3 maximums, all of which occurred in the 2nd half of the game.
Rajasthan Royals Inning
The quick breakthrough came courtesy of Arshdeep, who bowled for the team and was responsible for both openers being out. Ravichandran Ashwin was brought out to begin for the Royals instead of Jos Buttler, who’d already gone off the ground grimacing after collecting a catch of Shahrukh Khan earlier in the game. The catch was made by Shahrukh Khan.
The first player to be dismissed was Yashasvi Jaiswal, who hit the ball in such a way that it was caught by the straight fielder. In addition, the Ashwin experiment was a failure because the senior spinner was gone for a duck.
Buttler, who was playing in the third spot, had a score of 19 after 11 balls. He was knocked down in the 3rd over, but it was too late for him to make much of a comeback as Ellis made him his first target of the evening.
Sanju Samson, who captained the team and scored 42 points off of 25, appeared to be in fantastic shape as he placed the ball nicely. Before meeting Ellis with a pair of fours, he smashed Harpreet Brar for two consecutive boundaries.
At the halfway point, Rajasthan’s record stood at 89 for 3. Samson eventually gave in to the pressure and poorly timed a crossing seamer delivered by Ellis as the necessary run rate continued to rise. Nonetheless, the Punjab bowlers were successful in drying off the boundaries.
Both Shimron Hetmyer Who was able to score 36 runs off just 18 balls and Dhruv Jurel made 32 runs not out off just 15 balls put the Royals in the game. However, a stunning penultimate over by Sam Curran, in which he threw away just 10 runs despite defending 16 runs, secured Punjab its 2nd straight victory in the league.
In my opinion, if you can successfully execute a Yorker in that situation, you will be fine. Curran remarked, “Sometimes it succeeds and maybe some days it may not, but happily it was my day.” He was referring to his successful yorkers in the last over.
