Shadab Khan is an experienced Pakistani international player who serves as the deputy captain of the national team of Pakistan in limited-overs sports such as cricket. Khan is also a member of the Pakistan cricket squad. In the Pakistan Super League (PSL), he captained Islamabad United, while he leads Northern in the Pakistan Cricket League (PCL). Khan, who plays multiple positions, is Pakistan’s leading bowler in Twenty20 Internationals. In addition to this, he is widely considered one of the most capable fielders in Pakistan. Since the year 2022, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has included him among the group of players who are under central contracts. Khan was an integral part of the Pakistani side that triumphed at the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017 and took home the trophy.
Malaika Saqlain, the daughter of Pakistani bowling coach and ex-international player Saqlain Mushtaq, was married to him in a private nikah ceremony on January 23, 2023.
Khan led the Pakistan squad in its inaugural Twenty20 International (T20I) match against New Zealand on December 18, 2020, because Babar was unable to play due to an injury. This was Khan’s first time serving as captain of the Pakistan team in an international event. During the 2016–17 National T20 Cup, which began on August 26, 2016, he made his first appearance in the Twenty20 format for Rawalpindi. As a result of his outstanding play in the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017, he was offered a contract to engage in Trinbago Knight Riders during the Caribbean Premier League in 2017. Later in the year 2017, Shadab signed a contract to play for the Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League’s seventh season.
On March 26, 2017, he played his first Twenty20 International (T20I) match for Pakistan, which took place against the West Indies. As a bowler making their first appearance in a Twenty20 international, he finished his four overs with the most economical numbers ever recorded. The month after that, he was included in Pakistan’s Test team in preparation for their matchup versus the West Indies.
On April 7, 2017, Khan played his first One Day International match for Pakistan, which took place against the West Indies. On April 30, 2017, he made his first appearance for Pakistan in a Test match, which was also played against the West Indies. He was a member of Pakistan’s Champions Trophy–winning team in 2017, which he participated in. He was honored with the title of Emerging Player of the Year by the PCB in early September 2017.
