Shoaib Malik is one of the most experienced players in the current Pakistani cricket team. He was born in Sialkot city on 1 February 1982. The right-handed batsman played his first match for Pakistan in 1999 against West Indies.

After 2 years of his ODI debut, he played his first test match against Bangladesh in 2001. He represents Pakistan in 35 test matches, 287 ODIs, and 124 T20 internationals.

Shoaib Malik was selected as a batsman in the Pakistan cricket team but later he started Right-arm off-break bowling. He was one of the top all-rounders among all cricket-playing teams. In June 2008, he was on the second number in ICC ODI all-rounder rankings.

Due to his brilliant all-around performance PCB appointed him as a Captain of the Pakistan cricket team. He remains the Captain of the Pakistan cricket team from 2007 to 2009.
