Gujarat Titans Inning

The bottom middle-order batsmen for GT were able to utilise the lengthy bat to their advantage and propel their team to an impressive 207 for 6.

During an important stand of 71 scores for the 5th wicket partnering the South African, David Miller scored a blistering 46 off of just 22 deliveries, Rahul Tewatia hit an immaculate 20 off of just 5 balls, and Abhinav Manohar made 42 off of only 21 balls.

This occurred following Shubman Gill scoring an impressive 34-ball 56 in the previous game.

Following winning the coin toss, Arjun Tendulkar’s captain Rohit choose to bowl first, so the game got off to a good start for the young batsman, who only gave up four scores in the initial over.

The opener, Gill, hit the opening boundary of the game when he tucked one beyond square off a delivery from Jason Behrendorff that was just a hair short.

Wriddhiman Saha’s effort at a pull shot off Tendulkar resulted in an edge that was caught by the keeper on the very 1st ball of the 3rd over, so Michigan International did not have to wait very long for their inaugural breakthrough.

Saha reassessed the call after taking his partner Gill’s recommendation, but UltraEdge decided to stick with the original call made by the on-field umpire.

Tendulkar junior made a strong recovery four days after the Punjab Kings hammered him for 48 scores in 3 overs. His performance was really impressive. The left-arm seamer, who is 23 years old and is growing in confidence, allowed just five runs to be scored against him.

During a quiet opening five overs, Gill provided the GT innings with the pace it need by hitting a few boundaries and a maximum during his batting at bat.

GT achieved 50 scores for 1 at the conclusion of the 6 powerplay overs. Gill was responsible for 17 of those runs off of Green’s maiden delivery.

However, the defending champions Gujrat Titans were dealt a significant setback when Piyush Chawla gave 34 runs and took 2 wickets the batsman who was captaining the team, Hardik, captured in the wide by Suryakumar following the batter had scored 13 runs off of 14 deliveries.

Gill, who had played some magnificent shots on his way to a rapid 50-plus score, was hauled back by Kumar Kartikeya, which left the side 91 for 3 at the beginning of the twelfth over. This was another shocking development for GT, who was in for yet another surprise. Gill made seven fours and one six in his innings.

Before Manohar along with Miller started their massive hitting, Vijay Shankar was out for 19 off 16 balls, and the run rate started to go up.

After three productive overs, Chawla’s statistics were ruined by the fact that Manohar scored 17 runs during Chawla’s last over.

After that, the partnership of Miller and Manohar scored 22 runs during the eighteenth over that was delivered by Green, who was hit for 3 sixes during that over.

Last but not least, Manohar was bowled out by Riley Meredith at the start of the nineteenth over. The hitter was attempting to send the ball beyond long-off when he was dismissed.

Tewatia hit a six off the first ball of the over, but Miller followed it up with a further two sixes to finish out the over.

Mumbai Indians Inning

After being given a challenging goal of 208 runs, Mumbai Indians were only able to score 152/9 in 20 overs.

MI did not get off to the sort of start they had hoped for, and they found themselves in a difficult position after losing their captain, Rohit Sharma, for 29 runs in 6 overs. The squad failed miserably to make effective use of the powerplay.

In the 2nd over, Rohit put a leading edge on the ball while he was trying to place it on the inside, which led to Hardik Pandya taking a return catch from him. Hardik Pandya was his opponent.

After the faster bowlers had finished their work, the renowned leg-spinner Rashid Khan stepped on and delivered a first over that was quite economical.

Ishan Kishan had a long and arduous stay during the middle for MI, but they were able to put up 13 runs during the 7th over before Rashid terminated it. Ishan hit 13 runs off a total of 21 deliveries during his at-bat.

Rashid got Tilak Varma caught ahead of the wicket just three deliveries later, bringing the score for MI in the 8th over to 45 for 3 and leaving them in a desperate position.

From that point on, the 5-time defending champions Mumbai Indians were unable to do sufficient to challenge the current champions.

Cameron Green pitched in with a score of 33 off 26 deliveries, whereas Suryakumar Yadav supplied 23 scores off just 12 deliveries after Suryakumar Yadav’s disastrous session with the ball, during which he was smacked over for 39 scores in 2 overs. Nehal Wadhera hammered his opponent to 40 runs in just 21 balls, however, their attempts did not stop the inevitable outcome from occurring.

In addition to Rashid’s remarkable numbers of 2/27 in 4 overs, Afghanistan’s other spinner, Noor Ahmad, concluded with similarly outstanding figures of 3/37 after bowling his full budget of overs.
